Katherine R. Virdi

Executive Vice President, Chief Personnel Officer

Ms. Katherine Virdi plans and manages human resources policies, objectives, and initiatives for IntelliDyne and its affiliate companies, which includes benefits administration, talent acquisition, industrial security, and professional development. As part of IntelliDyne’s executive management team, she has significantly contributed to the company’s growth and expansion by seeking out exceptional talent who are able to seamlessly meld into IntelliDyne’s employee base.

Ms. Virdi joined IntelliDyne in 2001 as the Web Development Manager and was responsible for the technical (back-end) development of the Military Health System’s Web site. She managed a team of Web developers located in Virginia and Colorado. In 2002, she was promoted to Director of Human Resources and established IntelliDyne’s HR department. In 2005, Ms. Virdi was promoted to Executive Vice President/Chief Personnel Officer.

Ms. Virdi’s career spans non-profit, commercial, and government contracting sectors. She held her first position at the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and was quickly promoted to Editor of the monthly newsletter. She then became Communication Manager for a privately held consulting company. In 1999, Ms. Virdi was hired by Axiom to support the Communication & Customer Services Directorate of the TRICARE Management Activity. She was responsible for front-end user content on the Military Health System’s Web site, which consists of hundreds of thousands of pages.

Ms. Virdi received B.S. degrees in French Studies and International Studies from the University of Richmond. She also holds M.A. degrees in French Studies and in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from American University. Additionally, she has two globally recognized certificates, one in French Translation and the other to teach English as a Second Language. In 2008, Ms Virdi received a Senior Professional in Human Resources certification. She also holds a Certificate of Human Resources Studies from Cornell University. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Ms. Virdi contributed two chapters to the book, An Insider’s Guide to Finding a Job: Expert Advice from America’s Top Employers and Recruiters. The chapter, Can You Recover from an Interview Faux Pas, offers a recruiter’s commonsense advice to recover from an interview mistake. In The Importance of Body Language and Eye Contact chapter, she discusses how critically important body language and eye contact are when interviewing and in communication in general.
