What is your role at IntelliDyne?
I am a Systems Administrator and have been working in this role for several years on different contracts with IntelliDyne. I manage servers, making sure they are functioning properly, and create customer accounts and permissions. I have worked with several different systems, from physical servers to virtual servers to cloud-based systems.
What about your job makes you jump out of bed each morning?
I enjoy working on new challenges and working with a great team. Having a supportive team makes it easier to resolve issues.
What influenced or drove you to become an expert in your field?
I have always enjoyed working with computers and found myself drawn to the quick evolution of Information Technology (IT). I like to learn new skills and IT offers that to those who want to keep learning.
What was your dream job growing up?
Growing up I always wanted to become a police officer. After leaving the Marine Corps I decided against it, because the salary was not commensurate with the level of risk involved, and I had a bigger passion for technology.
What are some personal challenges you have encountered in your career —and how have you overcome them?
Not pursuing my degree after my departure from the Marine Corps. With the support of my family, I finally decided to return to school to pursue my degree while also obtaining certifications and staying active in my professional progress.
What advice would you give to someone looking to pursue a career in systems administration?
Always do your research to work through problems. Become the person that people count on for resolving issues, and teach yourself new systems to keep advancing your skillset.

What do you think makes IntelliDyne a great place to work?
IntelliDyne has been a great home for me because the company cares about the employees and they give credit to their employees to make sure they know they are appreciated. I enjoy working for IntelliDyne because they are focused on giving their clients the best support, while making sure the staff is happy and valued. I have not worked for a company that values their employees like IntelliDyne does.
Which one of our corporate values is the most meaningful to you?
The corporate value that is most meaningful to me is Integrity. Especially as a veteran, it is one of the most important values. You need to have a team that is honest and will do the right thing in order to succeed. Being honest with your employees and your clients is important, even when the truth is not good news.
What is one unique or fun fact that others may not know about you?
I enjoy Pokémon more than my kids because it reminds me of my childhood and I am now able to own all the things that I wasn’t able to when I was young.
