IntelliDyne Data Scientist, Jenny Glenski

Continuing Education Programs Create New Opportunities for Both Employees & Employer

IntelliDyne is excited to announce that Jenny Glenski, Data Scientist, has earned her Master of Science in Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), a top-10 ranked research university.

Jenny was able to take advantage of the tuition reimbursement program offered by IntelliDyne to complete her Master’s degree, attending school part-time while continuing to work full-time for the company. The experience and education that Jenny gained through her courses and role as an Instructional Associate at Georgia Tech helped to strengthen her programming skills and deepen her understanding of machine learning. When an opportunity at the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) was identified by IntelliDyne, Jenny was chosen to lead the development of a natural language processing (NLP) toolset for the agency because of the advanced skillset she had gained through her master’s program.

The NLP toolset is used to analyze research portfolios in order to help prioritize medical research funding for the VA. “Since the Department of Veteran Affairs is one of the largest funding sources of medical research, the modeling and analyses we do today will help influence the future of the field of research in oncology, mental health, and other medical topics. It is an immensely rewarding project to be part of,” said Jenny.

In addition to the formal education that Jenny has pursued while working at IntelliDyne, she is a member of several women in technology organizations and committees that help keep her technical skills current and through which she is a mentor and leader in her field. For instance, as a program committee member for the 2021 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, she helps shape the largest women in technology conference in the world. This year, she was also an invited speaker and mentor for Teens in AI’s Global Girls in AI Hackathon, and a mentor for Women in AI’s USA Hackathon. For both hackathons, her mentees placed first in their region!

“My goal in life is to use my ‘Data Science powers’ for social good and I am always looking for opportunities to do so. As an example, I volunteer as the Lead Case Manager for the Humane Rescue Alliance (the largest animal services provider and shelter in the region), where I analyze operations data and mentor a team of 30+ volunteer Case Managers. Together, we improve processes so we can save more animals’ lives by finding them loving homes,” Jenny explained.
