What is your current role and how long have you been with IntelliDyne?
I am a Sr. Systems Administrator, working for IntelliDyne for 4 years and 11 months.

What do you think makes IntelliDyne a great place to work?
IntelliDyne has truly helped me see where I want to be and how I can get there. The employee incentive programs make it rewarding to stay on track and grow professionally. My managers are supportive of career growth and mental health. I am happy to be part of such a great family at IntelliDyne and proud to see how the company has evolved and dealt with obstacles while continuing to meet both client and employee needs.

What do you enjoy most about your role at IntelliDyne?
IntelliDyne encourages career growth and provides opportunities for employees to advance their skills through certification programs and training. I have been able to grow my role within the company and feel like leadership is always supportive of my goals.

What was your dream job growing up?
I always wanted to become a cop when I was growing up. When my cousin joined the Marine Corps, I decided to follow in his footsteps and joined right after high school.

What influenced or drove you to pursue a career in Systems Administration?
Since elementary school, I always felt drawn to working on computers and even taking them apart. Once I got older, I started seeing positions available for what I did as a hobby. I pursued it and found myself moving up the ladder.

How have you taken ownership of advancing your career at IntelliDyne?
Once I joined IntelliDyne and saw all the support from management to better my career by applying for certifications and taking advantage of the reimbursement program it was an easy decision. I had worked for another company for 10 years where there was a reimbursement program, but no push or guidance to take advantage of it. IntelliDyne’s generous programs and supportive leadership were the drivers that I needed to pursue my career growth. To date, I have received my MCSE, Sec +, ITILv4, Azure Foundations certification, and have enrolled to complete my degree.

What parts of our mission do you connect with?
To empower the federal workforce through the delivery of quality, mission-aligned services. It makes me feel great to be part of a team that our Federal Government clients trust to help them achieve their mission, whether it is in health, justice, or defense.

Which one of our corporate values is the most meaningful to you?
Integrity is the most meaningful corporate value to me. As a former service member, it has always been important to me to have strong moral principles.

Tell us about your Hispanic background.
My mother and father were both born in El Salvador, and I was born in Los Angeles, CA.

What is one of your favorite cultural traditions?
Holy week (Semana Santa) was a huge tradition growing up. My family and I used to celebrate all week with religious festivities. I recall a few times we participated in the march leading us to our local church with the streets closed off in Maryland. Thousands of us were a part of it and I remember the people from El Salvador talking about how in San Salvador parades and performances were held until Easter Sunday.

What is a traditional Salvadoran dish that you love?
Pupusas have always been my favorite Salvadoran dish.

What are some of the things you love or are most proud of about your Hispanic heritage?
Growing up in a Hispanic household we always had large family gatherings almost weekly. Every weekend felt like a potluck and always seemed like I met a new family member that I had not seen before.

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
I am a photo enthusiast, I like spending time with my kids, playing video games with my kids, practicing guitar, and playing with my drones.

What’s on your bucket list?
To go skydiving, travel to Japan with my kids, and go on a road trip with my family around the US.
